Crayon stains on your carpet, walls and all kind of other places are a rite of passage for most parents with little children. Learn how to deal (and how not to yell.)
- Use a metal spoon to scrape as much of the crayon as possible. Vacuum up the shavings with the hose attachment on your vacuum.
- Hopefully you will have removed almost all of the wax this way. If there is a color residue soap and water may be the best remedy. You can try carpet shampoo or mild dish soap with some warm water. Apply the solution to the spot and then rinse it very well with clean water. You’ll need to dry the carpet by soaking up the excess water with clean towels. Get it as dry as possible by pressing the towels deep into the pile.
